Hunt's Tree Farm 2009

Hunt's Tree Farm is a trip to the past. Frank and I have gone every year. We ride big wagons full of people out into the pine fields to look for the perfect tree. Every year it seems to be the same.....we always come back to the one that caught our eye at the start. This year I was determined that I would get a slender tree. That didn't happen. We found a robust tree that stood 11 feet tall and cut it down to the size we needed, about 7 to 8 feet. Here Frank, Ross, and Maggie stand beneath the tree that eventually made it to the house.
After we cut down the perfect tree we head back to the "shed" where hot chili, coco, hotdogs and Christmas cookies waited for us. The kids got their faces painted and visited with Santa. This year Ross was looking forward to seeing him. When he saw him he said, "There is Santa and that is the real Santa." Maggie didn't seem frightened at all of Santa. She easily climbed up on his lap and told him she loves "Dora and Boots."

We were at Hunt's Tree Farm for nearly 2 hours. We headed home with Tree in the back of the truck, our belly's full, and smiles on our faces!
