We arrived home with out tree bundled tight. #1 - It's easier to get through tight spots and #2 - we like to watch it spring open when Frank cuts the wire. This year the tree was heavier than usual. I think it is because we chose an older tree. It originally stood 11 feet tall and we cut it down to fit our home.
Ross and Maggie pose with our naked tree before the decorating gets underway. We sent them upstairs to play while Frank and I put the lights on.
The lights are on now it's time to haul out all of the ornaments. Some from my childhood, others Frank had, and of course the many that the kids have received from us and other family members.
Ross with Frosty the Bear.
Maggie with Santa.
This year the kids "get it". The whole Santa thing. Ross hasn't put 2 and 2 together yet. I keep reminding them that it is Jesus' birthday. Ross knows but at this age he loves the toys and is looking forward to gifts.
The finished tree........several hours and some rearranging later. Maggie put every ornament she could on the bottom branches. Ross did a little better and was able to reach higher. All in all it was a great decorating time.
